SSC Exam a new hope for Candidates
SSC (Staff
Selection Commission) is an organization which recruits aspirants for different
posts in various departments and Ministries of Indian Government. Staff
Selection Commission was found in the year 1977. SSC conducts Combined Graduate
Level Examination (CGL) in order to recruit talented and skillful candidates. SSC
exams are designed in such a way that it tests the ability of a candidate to
work in the Government Sector. As a result, it consists of a wide syllabus and
it is very difficult to clear the SSC Exam. It serves a platform to enter into
Government sector and build career. CGL examination consists of three tiers.
(i) Tier 1
comprises of 4 sections of multiple choice questions that covers reasoning,
intelligence, awareness, quantitative aptitude and English comprehension and
carries 200 marks. Duration of tier 1 examination is 2 hours. Tier 1 is
concentrated on aspirant’s basic knowledge of lateral thinking, terminologies,
verbal usage, current affairs, arithmetic, visual skills, etc.
(ii) Tier 2
is for those aspirants who qualify Tier 1. It consists of Quantitative
abilities, English language, Comprehension and Statistics. It is more oriented
towards communication skills of the candidate. Tier 2 includes 2 papers of 4
hours and carries 400 marks. It tests candidate’s knowledge of analytical
reasoning, ratio and compound interest, algebraic sums, simple tax
calculations, efficiency in English, pronunciations, comprehension, etc.
(iii) Tier 3
is for those aspirants who qualify Tier 2. This is last tier which includes
Personal Interview in which candidate’s skills are tested and analyzed. Here,
candidates are evaluated on the basis of their interpersonal skills, curricular
activities and communication skills.
Once the
candidates clear Tier 3, they become eligible to work in different Ministries
of Government of India.
The CGL
(Combined Graduate Level) Examination is very important as through this
examination candidates are recruited for various prestigious posts in the
Indian Government which includes Assistant Enforcement Officers, Assistants in
Central Ministries, Central Excise Inspectors, Sub Inspectors in CBI,
Inspectors in Central Bureau of Narcotics and Inspectors in Income Tax.
Candidates
aspiring to crack SSC exam should work hard and prepare well for it. Nothing is
impossible if you have strong will and determination. Candidates should go
through the previous year’s question papers and try to figure out a pattern in
question paper. If you are dreaming of working in Ministries of Government of
India by cracking SSC exam then you should wake up and start working right away
because it’s never too late.
